Ellen bought her first car today--a 2010 Kia Optima. Initially we turned up our nose at Kia, but the owner of the place where we were shopping told us that Hyundai bought Kia 6 years ago and completely turned things around. The Optima is the same as a Hyundai Sonata. It gets decent gas mileage and has lots of leg room--the most important factor for a Chamberlain. It also has a 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Yeah for that!
Ellen test drove 5 cars. The Corolla and Cobalt were too small. She loved the Jetta, but it was too expensive. That left the Galant and the Optima. The Galant had a little more leg room, but more miles on it. The Optima had a MP3 jack for her iPod and the extra warranty. I think she made a good choice, though she was feeling nauseous thinking about it. Here's a picture.
